Apple announced watchOS 27 today, alongside iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate 27, iPadOS 27, and its counterparts. watchOS 27 drops support for several older Apple Watch models. Check out below whether your Apple Watch will run the new system.

Apple announced watchOS 27 during today’s WWDC26 keynote. It introduces the new Siri AI app, new data insights for workouts, Spanish support for Workout Buddy, and more.

The bad news is that watchOS 27 drops support for Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), Apple Watch Series 6, 7, 8, and 9, and the first-gen Apple Watch Ultra.

Here’s the full list of models that will be able to run watchOS 27:

watchOS 27 requires an iPhone 11 or later, or iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), running iOS 27. As with past updates, if you’ve got an older Apple Watch, certain new features may not be available.
