Gucci’s Art of Silk Campaign Dives Into the Archives

Gucci makes the silk scarf feel completely new again. The House has launched The Art of Silk campaign, a project curated by Demna that pulls ten iconic designs straight from the Florence archives and reimagines them for right now.

Bold prints like Double Trouble, Hard-Wear, and Il Gattino return with the kind of energy that makes heritage feel urgent rather than nostalgic. The campaign images are sharp and fluid at the same time. Scarves are worn as halter tops, headwraps, and mini-dresses, each styling choice leaning into movement and texture.

Gucci also partnered with LACMA to create two exclusive Flora scarves in celebration of the museum’s new Los Angeles galleries, adding a cultural dimension that stretches well beyond the runway.

The sustainability angle is just as compelling. The silk is sourced from southern Italy, where a new initiative supports local farmers growing organic mulberry trees using renewable energy, while also generating jobs in Calabria.

Art students in Florence who painted the original archival designs are being recognized through a dedicated scholarship program and exhibition. Gucci is treating this collection as something worth preserving, and the results make a convincing case.
