You can now turn looking after your plants into a game

A gamified plant care sensor with AI-driven diagnostics, the Senso tracks soil moisture, temperature, and sunlight data in real time while running a pixel creature display that reflects each plant’s health status through animations tied directly to live sensor readings.

We spotted the sensor at Beyond Expo 2026, where it takes a modular approach that separates the display unit from the soil probe via a magnetic connection, a design choice that simplifies cleaning and allows the probe to be repositioned across different pots without detaching the main body from wherever it sits

The display unit carries the gamification layer at the core of the Senso’s proposition, with a small screen showing an animated character whose behaviour shifts in response to the plant’s current conditions, rewarding consistent care with daily and weekly mission completions in a structure that borrows from mobile game progression systems.

Beyond the creature mechanic, the companion app synthesises continuous sensor data with AI-powered visual analysis, allowing the system to identify plant species from a photograph and generate care recommendations tailored to the specific variety, a feature that addresses one of the more persistent gaps in existing soil sensor products, which typically offer generic threshold alerts rather than species-level guidance.

The sensor supports a database of over 12,000 plant species and scales to multi-plant households through individual profiles, growing zone assignments, and historical logging for each unit, with the app consolidating all connected sensors into a single interface regardless of how many are running simultaneously.

The gamification angle also distinguishes it from data-focused competitors such as the Xiaomi Mi Flora and Parrot Flower Power, both of which surface readings through a standard dashboard without any engagement layer designed to build consistent care habits over time.

Pricing and availability for the Senso have not been confirmed, with the product still at the pre-launch stage following its appearance at Beyond Expo 2026, and no release window has been announced for any specific market.

Those keen to follow the Senso’s development ahead of a confirmed launch date can sign up to the company’s mailing list for updates on availability and new features as they are announced.
