Verdict
The Arlo Essential 3 2K Security Camera is an excellent outdoor camera that delivers much of the Arlo Pro experience for less money. The compromises are relatively minor: its battery is integrated rather than replaceable, while the 130° field of view is tighter than on Arlo’s premium models.
Neither should be a deal breaker for most homes. Video quality is excellent, while the comprehensive detection options make it easy to reduce unwanted alerts. The main drawback is the expensive Arlo subscription, but if you’re prepared to pay, this is one of the best wireless outdoor cameras available.
