
Taiwan’s annual technology showcase, the Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE), returns to the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 on September 17–19, 2026. This year’s theme of “AI‑Powered Innovation, Sustainable Future” illustrates how AI is seeping into the connective tissue of everyday environments. With more than 1,000 patented technologies on display, the expo will enforce how Taiwan’s research institutions and manufacturers are building the next generation of ambient intelligence.
Jointly organized by 12 government agencies and co-executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), there will be exhibitors from 18 countries, including Japan, the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.

What We’re Catching at the Show
We’ll be at all four major exhibition areas: the Invention Competition Area, Innovation Economy Pavilion, Future Tech Pavilion, and Smart Sustainability Pavilion. Covering digital empowerment, smart manufacturing, precision health, net-zero sustainability, and cross-domain applications, the expo shows how AI technologies can translate into practical applications that drive industrial transformation
Invention Competition Area (Early Signals of Ambient Tech)
The expo’s invention competition brings together 550 entries from Taiwan and abroad. This is where you see the earliest hints of how AI might reshape everyday environments.
One standout example, using sensor-driven ambient interfaces, is an External Wireless Electronic Press‑response System designed for dialysis patients. It uses pressure and motion sensors to guide daily care through real‑time feedback.
Innovation Economy Pavilion (AI That Touches Daily Life)
Built around “AI Driving Transformation Across All Industries”, these technologies have clear implications for connected living. We’re especially excited to see the Intelligent Payload Identification & Tracking system, a logistics technology that enables smart environments to recognize objects, follow movement, and understand the context around them.
We plan to explore the Intelligent Neuro‑Oculomotor Diagnostic System, which brings precision health and ambient sensing together to show how homes and clinics could evolve into connected, hybrid care spaces.
We want to learn more about the Smart Water Dual‑Core System and how its digital twins and autonomous monitoring vessels work. It points toward smart‑city infrastructure that can quietly monitor conditions, adapt, and increasingly manage itself. The Taiwan Patent GO showcase adds another layer, spotlighting patented technologies that have already earned international recognition.
Future Tech Pavilion (The Next Decade of Ambient Intelligence)
Here, Taiwan’s long‑term R&D priorities come into focus by bringing together semiconductors, optoelectronics, biotech, and communications. I’m especially interested in seeing the AI‑MFTSS (Multi‑Sensor Fusion Target Tracking System), because the ability to combine signals from multiple sensors is foundational to creating environments that can perceive what is happening around them and respond intelligently.
I’m also eager to explore the AI‑enabled Disaster Intelligence Integration Platform, which shows that ambient intelligence builds resilience in the places where we live. Alongside university‑industry collaborations and research from Taiwan’s major science institutions, they offer a roadmap for how ambient technology could evolve over the next three to ten years.
Smart Sustainability Pavilion (Ambient Systems for a Resilient Future)
This pavilion ties together smart agriculture, circular economy, and AI‑driven health; all of these are essential components of future ambient ecosystems.
The AI Floral Pathway Smart Production & Marketing system turns agriculture into a responsive, data‑driven environment. A compelling example of how ambient intelligence can move beyond homes and cities to help growers adapt production and marketing decisions in real time.
I intend to see DeepRad.AI DeepLung‑CAC 100 and consider how AI healthcare tools like it might eventually become part of home diagnostics. Equally intriguing is Circular Recycling for Absorbent Hygiene Products technology, which points to closed‑loop systems operating quietly across cities and communities. This kind of sustainability infrastructure could make future ambient ecosystems more resilient, and we fully support it.
Five Guided Routes (AI Agents and Next-Generation Smart Networks)
To help visitors navigate the extensive range of exhibits, the expo will offer five themed guided routes covering major technology trends, including AI, next-generation communications, precision health and sustainable development. Visitors from different industries can select routes based on their interests and explore key technologies and applications across the exhibition.
In addition to technology showcases, the expo will host a series of forums and seminars to deepen industry dialogue. Among them, the international forum “The Convergence of 5G/6G Forum: AI Agent-Driven Next-Generation Intelligent Networks” will bring together industry leaders and technology experts from Taiwan and overseas to discuss AI Agents, AI RAN, edge computing and 5G/6G technologies. The forum will explore technological innovation, application scenarios and commercial implementation, foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and strengthen Taiwan’s connections with the global technology industry.
