Alaïa Denim Strips Down to the Essentials

Alaïa is changing jeans by treating denim as a sculptural second skin. The house just dropped its debut Alaïa Denim collection, and the campaign gets to basics. Shot by photographer Sam Rock, the visuals feature model Mona Tougaard in a stark, clean studio setting that feels both raw and intimate.

In a bold move, Mona is styled topless, surrounded by faceless models who act as human props. This choice strips away the noise, focusing entirely on how the fabric interacts with the body. It’s a vibe that emphasizes the brand’s obsession with the second skin fit.

The inspiration here is all about the tension between control and ease. Alaïa spent a full year researching these fabrics in Japan to ensure they don’t just sit on the body, but actually sculpt it.

There are six key silhouettes, ranging from the architectural Round pant to the fluid, floor-sweeping Palazzo. Each piece, whether barrel cut or straight, is designed to be lived in until it develops a custom patina. Whether it’s the vintage-inspired Straight leg or the sharp Skinny, the collection feels like a permanent uniform for the modern wardrobe.
