Since the beginning of BO7 ranked play, three guns have been dominating the meta, and one of them is the undisputed king of ranked. I have Black Ops 7 meta and ranked loadouts explained in this article, covering the best loadouts for each of the 3 meta beasts and what perks and gadgets you want to have with them.
Black Ops 7 Meta Weapons
BO7 can’t flex a big roster of available guns for ranked and CDL, so the meta doesn’t really change, even in season 5. They nerf and buff certain attachments here or there, but for the most part, you can set up the builds provided below and forget about ever changing them, unless you want to make some minor tweaks to make your weapon slightly more comfortable for you. To make this article possible, I’ve used this detailed guide to the best BO7 ranked loadouts with perks and gadget recommendations, changing some aspects. I removed VS Recon cause you can’t add attachments to it and substituted it with the MPC-25. Here are the Black Ops 7 meta weapons I’m gonna share the builds for in this guide:
- M15 Mod 0: Main and best AR for BO7 ranked
- MPC-25: Fast and deadly SMG for CQC
- Dravec 45: Hybrid SMG that loses at short distances but is better at mid-range than MPC-25
All of these weapons are very viable, though you’re likely to see the Dravec 45 drop in popularity the higher your rank is, despite its popularity and strength in pre-platinum lobbies. My favorite gun to use is the MPC-25, cause it melts your enemies at close distance, and if you know the ins and outs of the maps, you won’t have any trouble picking the right position with it.
BO7 Best Ranked & CDL Weapon Builds
For now, I’ll focus only on the weapon loadouts. The general loadout with perks, attachments, and secondaries will be broken down later. If you’re an avid ranked player, you probably already know what it’ll look like. Know that all three of these loadouts are very competitive, quite potent, and are based on loadouts that real pro players use.
M15 Mod 0 – Best AR Build for BO7 Ranked
You really can’t go wrong with M15 Mod 0. It has good damage and is deadly at mid-to-long ranges. It loses badly in close quarters to pretty much any SMG, but hey, I hope you’re not rushing around with this in your hands. If your goal is to hold the angle, you can’t find anything better than this. Here’s a meta build for M15 Mod 0:
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | Lethal Tools ELO |
| Muzzle | – |
| Barrel | 16.5″ Fusion Barrel |
| Underbarrel | – |
| Magazine | – |
| Rear Grip | Peregrine Grip |
| Stock | Wander-3V Stock |
| Laser | – |
| Fire Mods | Buffer Spring |
| Build Code | A01-AUYBS-UP4W5-1 |
Letha Tools ELO sight is basically a must if you’re playing CDL, cause iron sights are statistically much better, so to even out the field, CDL makes you use it. Why even have customization at this point is a different question. Next up is the Hybrid Barrel. I see some people running a long barrel, or even a short one, but the 16.5″ Fusion Barrel is the one you’ll see the most thanks to its balance. It increases your damage range and bullet velocity, and the latter buff is what you really want to have. Peregrine Grip gives you faster ADS, which is what you need to quickly switch targets when you shoot them. It’s not very good if you plan on moving around with this weapon a lot, but if you want to do that, you can try Hexcut Grip. Wander-3V Stock is the default option that many people prefer to run on this weapon, thanks to its ADS strafing speed. If you don’t know, you can basically mitigate most of the horizontal recoil while strafing left and right, plus you become harder to hit, so this is your best friend in a shootout. Finally, for the Fire Mods, it’s Buffer Spring, cause it helps you to suppress your recoil even more, effectively turning this gun into a laser.
MPC-25 – Close Quarter King of BO7
A favorite of many players thanks to its incredible TTK. An incredibly aggressive weapon that forces you to play aggressively, and if this is your forte, pick it up. It has such an absurd TTK that if you manage to land your first shot on the target, you’ll almost always win the fight. Given that you’re using it within its effective range, obviously. Now take a look at this beast of an SMG build for MPC-25:
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | – |
| Muzzle | – |
| Barrel | 13.1″ Razorback |
| Underbarrel | Zero Shift Handstop |
| Magazine | – |
| Rear Grip | Photonic Adaptive Grip |
| Stock | K-1 Pedal Stock |
| Laser | – |
| Fire Mods | 5.56x30mm Overpressured |
| Build Code | S06-21WSG-MJ5UG-B111 |
For the barrel, you don’t have much of a choice here since 13.1″ is the only one that’s available. Much better bullet velocity, effectively making it easier for you to land your shots at mid-range and making the gun less of a peashooter. For the underbarrel, I’m going with a generally favored choice. You can go for the VAS Drift Lock Foregrip instead of Zero Shift, cause it reduces Horizontal recoil much better, but then you have somewhat higher Vertical recoil. I’ve also seen some people play with the Quickstep Foregrip, and that’s also a decent option, but I strongly suggest using Zero Shift cause it makes it easier to land your shots when ADSing. For the Rear Grip, it’s Photonic. Other Rear Grip options aren’t good IMO. If you have trouble landing your shots, maybe go for Magnate Grip, but generally speaking, you shouldn’t have any problem with the build I’ve provided. The Stock allows you to strafe like crazy, and that’s very important in CQC shootouts. For the Fire Mods, it’s really up to you. If you’re just getting used to a gun, use the Recoil Sync Unit, but if you already know the pattern pretty well, go for Overpressured ammo.
Dravec 45 – Hybrid SMG
If you are placed as a flex option on your team that can both hold angles and rush around the map, Dravec 45 is your best friend. Though it’s not as good at distance as the M15 or as good at close fighting as the MPC-25, its strength is variability. You can outplay both of these guns, but it requires slightly more effort from you than if you were playing normally. It’s a very decent weapon that I sometimes enjoy using, plus with a decreased mag size, it becomes even better. Here’s the meta Dravec 45 build for Black Ops 7 ranked:
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | – |
| Muzzle | Hawker Hybrid 45 |
| Barrel | 19″ EAM Horizon |
| Underbarrel | – |
| Magazine | Frontgate Fast Mag |
| Rear Grip | Quikarm Grip |
| Stock | Serval Q-Step Stock |
| Laser | – |
| Fire Mods | – |
| Build Code | S04-9Y6IJ-A11 |
The basic loadout for this gun usually uses the Hawker Hybrid muzzle with Quikarm Grip, which makes it much more viable as an SMG at close range, though if your opponent uses MPC-25, you’re still going to lose the fight if they shoot first. Long Barrel allows us to further push this weapon into an AR/SMG hybrid territory, increasing its damage range and allowing you to take fights with the M15. For the Magazine, we’re going with a 30-round one cause the default mag size is overkill. Thirty bullets is all you need most of the time, and you’ll get nice bonuses to your reload speed and ADS. For the final attachment, I have the Serval Q-Step, once again, because strafing is super strong in this game, and without it, you’re as good as a stationary target on the firing range.
Best Black Ops 7 General Loadout
Black Ops 7 isn’t very generous with options in your overall loadout. The choice is modest, and you’re likely to be using the same loadout every game, with little to no variety to it, as what you can see in the image above is the most optimal one. Below is the table for the best Black Ops 7 general loadout:
| Slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Secondary | Jäger 45 |
| Melee | Knife |
| Field Upgrade | Trophy System |
| Tactical | Stun Grenade |
| Lethal | Semtex |
| Wildcard | Perk Greed |
| Perk 1 | Ninja |
| Perk 2 | Fast Hands |
| Perk 3 | Dexterity |
| Perk Greed Bonus | Flak Jacket |
Jäger 45 is the only choice, plus it has no attachments. For your Field Upgrades, Trophy System is pretty good, but don’t forget that CDL doesn’t allow four Trophy Systems in one team, so occasionally you might wanna switch to Mute Field, especially if you’re using MPC-25 to hide from the radar. Your lethal is gonna be either a Semtex or a Frag. Frag is better if your opponent plays slower cause then you can cook up a nade and surprise them with an explosion to the face, and Semtex is good if you just want to pressure your opponent cause they’re unlikely to die to it. For our perks, let’s go over them like this:
- Perk 1: Ninja is always a better option, but if you’re playing MPC-25, you might want to switch to Lightweight.
- Perk 2: Fast Hands is good, but you can go for Tac Mask. Note that you can’t have both Tac Mask and Flak Jacket equipped by CDL rules.
- Perk 3: Dexterity + Ninja is a great combo.
- Perk 4: Flexible slot, usually Flak Jacket or Tac Mask. If you wanna just play ranked, why not equip both, changing Fast Hands to one of those perks.
And that’s it for the general loadout. As I said, not much variety to have here, so just stick to the default set and call it a day.
